Hi lol great videos. i've got something that's bothering me. i have a 150-liter aquarium and i'm planning for it to be a planted tank. i'm looking to avoid using traditional co2 bottles because of the gas, and i'm a bit paranoid because of the kids in the house. what's the best alternative to traditional co2?

I’m pretty sure the answer is no… but I have a dilemma. I have 9 bajillion guppies and have been frantically separating everyone to different ponds and tanks to stop the baby production 😩 I have a five gallon portrait with four males who are brothers from my first batch of babies, they all grew up together in this tank and moved the girls to the pond outside and the rest of the males to a 20 gallon tank. Well one of them is a complete psycho, I’ve moved him and changed tank mates twice because he is a huge bully. My issue is I’m running out of ideas and options. I can’t keep buying tanks and don’t want to use the other five gallon I have for just him. Would it be “ok” to have him in a three gallon nano by himself? He’s relatively small. Maybe an inch long, four months old. He’s very beautiful and I’d like to keep him and possibly breed him, since this seems to be my life now. 🫠 so questions are is 3 gallon too small even if he’s small and solo and also, would his aggression pass on to his young? Any advice is welcomed. I’m new to this… but been guzzling info since November, when I decided I wanted a water feature for my garden 🙄 got some fish and whoops!!! On another note, anyone know how to sell guppies? Lol

I just got a 10 gal, with some planting spill and bio sand, plus some wood for my daughter's upgraded fish tank. Will it be OK to put the betta in the tank by day 1 or do i need to wait a bit more days or weeks? As for plants, just gonna put some new store bought plants and to see what happens.

These Co2 systems are very good, just don't get complacent on refilling the system, as they last a fair amount of time I forgot the process and made the mistake of adding the water first then the bicarb and lastly acid and the reaction happened in a second causing a complete mess. Really, do follow the instructions in the video description! 😆

Does anyone in the US know where to find a bowl this large? Would love to make one but cant find one!

My tap water is pretty good by regular test standards. KH 3, GH 8, TDS 150. However, I did a water test at the laboratory because it's a new home. Arsenic is 38 ppb which is almost 4x the legal EPA standards. I now use RO and my plants and livestock do much better. Don't trust your test kits. Other nasty things can be in your water.

I have a lowtech tank, I don't even dare, in my country, tube counter, Diffuser equipment is too expensive, I can only watch and dream 🇹🇷

I would like to see a (small) internal filter vs a somewhat larger eternal canister filter. At the moment have an internal filter but I struggle a lot to have my tank stable

Would be great to know and understand how the quality of the system went down. To judge by the colors of the images available would be very superficial and subjective because, as we know, images can be different after using some Photoshop. I do see some indication of what many could call "old tank syndrome". That could be due to cutting costs, using less and low quality additives, cutting electricity costs, changing quality light fixtures for low end fixtures, and lack of knowledge of the current staff. Those are the main reasons why public aquariums normally loose exhibit quality. I do think the tank is neglected, after watching this video. It could be way better for what it represents. The need of a "reboot" in a tank like that is extremely expensive and needs a lot of staff to maintain that system running s it should. If they can't do that, it will eventually crash. I hope they are changing some substrate and have plan for the long run. It's a lot of daily work. Best wishes to the their staff!

*Don’t do this* I recently upgraded tanks and noticed a highly condensed acute dead spot in my 10gal. I had placed a highly porous river stone with a small bunch of bucephelandra there over a year ago and noticed it was growing at an accelerated rate in comparison to the other bunches. Lots of rotten organics evaded my cleanings there, curious why they were so succesful.

I'm almost 3 weeks in. I caved and did water changes because I wasn't using a skimmer, and it was driving me nuts. I installed one tonight after a water change. I hope to plant this weekend. Thanks, MJ. I'm always down for an experiment.
